Gaillac · 13th Century HouseLa Bohème Saint Michel — Charming House in Gaillac
« Its timber frames have gazed upon a thousand-year-old abbey »
A house that has contemplated the abbey for nearly eight centuries
Nestled in the heart of an exceptional heritage, La Bohème Saint Michel has stood on its half-timbered frame for nearly eight centuries
Suspended across the passage of time, it bears witness, like a photograph, to the richness of Gaillac's history. Its foundations date back to the 10th century; it was rebuilt in the 13th, then remodelled in the 18th.
Today equipped with all contemporary comfort, it houses, alongside its visitors, a permanent photographic exhibition — surrealist and romantic — scattered from the ground floor to the covered terrace, which itself overlooks the gardens of the Saint Michel abbey.
This is the first Art&Suites suite — the one where it all began, in May 2025. The bohemian spirit in its most precise form: materials that have crossed centuries, flea-market objects, an upright cross-strung piano, and the silence of Gaillac evenings when the abbey strikes eight.
